oh hai!
We have a brand new 47×57″ fluorescent UV tube vacuum exposing unit with floor stand sitting at our factory in a crate. the customer had a fire and can’t take it.
this is located in Mexico and ready to go, wired for 110v
Regular $3125, offered for $2500 plus shipping.
See it here: http://www.tmiscreenprinting.com/products/eagle-fluorescent/
andy AT timiscreenprinting.com
ALSO: I have 4 – 48×48 OD heavyduty aluminum stretch and glue frames – they won’t fit my new exposure unit or press. Some are ripped, some have half decent 225-250 mesh. $70 ea.FOB my studio, does not include freight or packaging for shipping.
ALSO: large newman roller frames (maybe 48×48″ or so) Some friends of mine in Langley BC (outside of Vancouver) ended up with quite a few – they have other sizes of regular frames too, they will sell them cheap. contact http://www.monsterpress.ca ask for Marty tell them andymac sent you!

a rotating Polycop vacuum exposing frame about 39″x 50″,
a smaller 50 leaf drying rack maybe 32×48.
All this is located in Victoria, make me an offer.

Hello,
I’m not sure if this is appropriate for this website, but here goes. My father, the artist David Larson, died 2007. I am liquidating art materials for my mom and among the items is a Martech Etching Press. This is a manual press that he dabbled with but did not use much. On the side is a plaque that reads, “This press was made for Alan Cutcliffe”. The company is out of business and this is one of only websites I’ve found that deal with such things. We are curious as to the value of this press and would appreciate any suggestions on finding a new owner.
Thank you. Anders Larson

Greg,
The press is in South Penobscot, Maine. I will be there in a few weeks and can get the measurements. If there is any measurement besides the bed size that you want, let me know and I’ll get it. If there are any other dimensions or information that you’d like, please ask. This is definately not my area of expertise.

Martech Etching Press update:
Sorry for the delay, but here are some numbers.
Large laminating plate is 17″ by 32″ by 3/4″
The top roller is 16″ by 5 1/2″ diameter
Bottom roller is approx 4″ diameter
The crank arm for the gearbox is 7″
I also have three 17″ by 32″ felts, 2 large tubs, 4 containers of etching ink, and a collection of etching tools. I have several photos and will send them to you upon request. My email is alarson@sanford.org. I am still trying to find a fair value for the press, and I welcome suggestions.

Ettan MS-3 etching press, 1 owner, private studio, 24 by 48 inch bed, in good, clean condition. This manual press includes a captain’s wheel instead of a handle or starwheel, so is much easier on the wrists and back. Fairly lightweight at about 280 pounds makes this press transportable. $2800> Buyer assumes all shipping & crating costs

I have a large floor model Ettan Etching Press in great condition. Its bed is 36″ x 72″. It has 2 good blankets, a plexiglass bed cover.
It is simply too large for my studio. It cost 8000$ new, and I am asking 4500$ plus all shipping and crating costs.
If interested leave a reply. This is a great deal for anyone with a large studio, or who runs classes. It is a primo press. Also, it requires double door to move it into a room.

Hi, I just popped a posting regarding a Glen Alps printing press that my mother-in-law, a retired artist, wants to sell. I’m not sure if that is what your looking for, but these are rare presses and it is an etching press. The measurements are as follows: the metal bed is 30 by 66 and the wheel’s diameter is 18in. It is heavy and orange and metal. I think it would be typified as medium, but I’m not an artist, so apologies for any errors. She is asking $5,000 or best offer. Thanks, Elizabeth

GUESSING maybe 65 lbs. It is 29″W, 26 1/2″ D, 32″ H.

Hope this helps you. Stacey

Thanks Stacey, that’s helpful information. Let me come at this another way: can the press and bed be removed from the table? In an ideal world, I would like to have the table… but shipping it doesn’t make sense given that I can mount the press on a table here. The stated weight of the press at Ettan site is 280 lbs. Your estimate for the press is 170 lbs. Was that a guess, or the press minus the table weight? I just need to give the shippers a weight to get a cost for shipping. Many thanks for your help with this.

Hi Lois, I know this post is 2 yrs old now but was wondering if you still have any of the supplies you were selling? I’m starting a home studio & need some of the items you had listed. I need a vertical etching tank if anyone reading this has one for sale as well as items one would encounter making the jump from a small etching press to a large etching press. In other words…help! LOL! Jim

My neighbor has a Martech etching press, similar or identical to the one described on this board about a year ago:
Martech Etching Press update:
Sorry for the delay, but here are some numbers.
Large laminating plate is 17″ by 32″ by 3/4″
The top roller is 16″ by 5 1/2″ diameter
Bottom roller is approx 4″ diameter
The crank arm for the gearbox is 7″ ”
I have inspected the press, which belonged to her late mother who was an excellent printmaker, and it appears to be in good condition. As a printmaker, I offered to help my neighbor find a new home for the press. I have yet to figure out a reasonable price for it. Any suggestions on a price would be most welcome.
The press is in central NH. Please get in touch with me if you would like more details

Hi Peggy,
I am looking for a press, and am in Maine. I have seen used presses of this size online, asking somewhere around the $1800- $2400 range — depending on condition, with the understanding that buyer is responsible to pick up. Takach sells used presses sometimes — so might be a price guide there. New press prices generally set the market, but then are generally shipped to the buyer. Hope this is helpful. Jann

I am open to trade a Chandler & Price platen letterpress for an etching press having at least a 16 inch or more in width top roller. The platen size on the C&P I have is approximately 14 3/4 x 9 1/4 inches; I have two chases; the inside width of the chase is 8×10 inches. I am located in the Ohio valley. I am not interesed in selling this press but would trade only for an etching press as specified above.

Seeking a high-quality floor etching/intaglio press (Conrad, American French, Elephant, etc.) in good condition, preferably within driving distance of Boston or Lenox. Bed width 12-30″. Prefer motorized, but crank or wheel considered.
This will be a production machine; repeatable alignment is critical. Will pay fair market price depending on make, model and condition.

My name is Yoshi Segoshi. I an a Tamarind trained printer and the founder of a workshop called “Edition Works” in Tokyo. Now I live in MA since 1995. I have a Takach made motorized litho press model 2648 with vari-speed and 25.5″ x 48″ backing plate.
http://www.takachpress.com/lithmotor/index.htm
I purchased it in 2001 and used it for about 2 years. It is in a perfect working condition with very minor cosmetic flows (minor ink stains and paint chips). I’ll send the photo of the press if you are interested.
I quit printmaking recently and moving on to painting. I’d like to sell this press for $5000 + shipping. The new one is priced as $18,170. The shipping cost should be less than $1000 within continental US.

Hi Sarah,
As a fellow Lithographer, welcome. Have you thought of contacting Takach here in Albuquerque, NM to see if they are shipping anywhere over in your neck of the woods. Sometimes they have been known to piggyback shipments so it is more affordable. It is probably the most amazing press you will want to use. Good Luck.
